Paul Brough
(deceased 2003) |
Paul's particular strength was in helping us to build a consensus amongst the disparate views held by the different members of the group. In fact it is fair to say that if he had not been on the group, the Protocol might never have been completed. In particular Paul will be remembered for the phrase “defend the compromise”. This was Paul's own way of saying that we all had different views on the detail but we must all see the “big picture” benefit of completing the challenge.
